WONGOSOL is implementing Outcome D of the Spotlight Initiative 2.0 in Liberia, with support from UN Women, to strengthen the capacity, coordination and meaningful participation of women-led and women’s rights organizations in efforts to prevent and respond to violence against women and girls.
Through the project, WONGOSOL supports the mapping and organizational capacity assessment of women-led organizations and civil society actors, strengthens institutional and technical capacities, promotes networking and coalition-building, and facilitates inclusive dialogue between civil society, communities, traditional leaders, government institutions and other key stakeholders.
The initiative places women’s rights organizations at the center of advocacy, accountability and decision-making, while strengthening their ability to influence policies, access resources, generate evidence and contribute effectively to national and community-level efforts to eliminate violence against women and girls.
Through Outcome D, WONGOSOL is helping to build a stronger, more connected and sustainable women’s movement capable of advancing gender equality, protecting the rights of women and girls, and sustaining progress toward ending violence and harmful practices in Liberia.
